Fault is a good question, at the end of the day it lies with the debtor but lifes not that simple.Everywhere you turn you are told what you need or are percieved to need. For the last few months all I've said is I need a holiday, its real I feel it. An escape from reality, the phone, the post, DHs condition, my parents everything really. I could pick up the phone and have the money in my account by close of business Monday, which is mad, I might even manage to pay it back. Yet if I went to the bank asking for money for a holiday on benefits surely the bank should say no, but they don't so it becomes partialy their fault.Barclaycard 3800

Hi Broken hearted,
You don't need to spend a fortune to have an enjoyable holiday, and it might give you the inspiration to come up with a more creative solution to your problems; :j sort of self financing.;)

There certainly is. Not been there for about 10 years now as we started swapping Skeggy for the hotter climates every year.
Back to the original post now.
I think there is an apportionment of blame between ourselves and the finance companies, i mean if they didnt give us so much credit then we wouldnt have so much to spend and would probably budget better, if you aint got it you cant spend it. My problem was i would see something i liked and would think oh well that will only cost me £30 a month on my CC but then you do that with everything and next thing ts costing you £600 a month.
Having just been digging out my CC statements for my forms and BR day on the 14th its quite shocking to see how buying lots of small things suddenly mount up to a hell of a lot. This time last year we moved into a rented property, it must have been 10 times the sie of the place we werealready in and only £15 a month more, masses of garden, views over open fields etc etc but it was cheap rent cause it wasnt in the best condition but as the landlord wanted a long term tenant and we were happy with that as we expected to be there a good few years so we were happy to spend money on decorating, landscaping and furnishing it, well looking at my CC statements just buying paint, curtains and nets (13 windows compared with 2 where we were) new cooker, plants for garden, new fence panels etc i spent easily 3k but at the time it didnt seem much but its a £100 for paint here and £100 there, 13 sets of curtains and nets doesnt come cheap and bang its a hell of a lot.
Then we got shafted by the Landlord as he wanted the property back, cause he was a farmer and offered the place as part of an employment package for a new employee, we were not happy obviuosly, previous tenants had been there 3 years and next door for 7. i Guess i will have fun explaining where i spent all that money to the OR when he see's like over 4k spent in 2 months.
Off to town now to buy some account books so i can go back to old school and write down everything i spend and do I & E every month and get my life back on track.Life is like a game of Snakes & Ladders, i almost made it to the top but now i'm at the bottom again and its a very long ladder to the top. I had it all and now its gone
Well my 6 years are now up, now to start to rebuild my life again

i always have to have a chuckle when we drive along the road from skeg to butlins, the chippy/cafe of the right hand side on the corner, "linga longa".
the chips are foul but the name always causes a smile in our car!0
