Unsatisfied with repair work
Plan to make an insurance claim to have my car repaired. If i am unsatisfied with the repair work what shall i do?
do i refuse to collect the car and ring the insurance company?
am i supposed to collect the car and tell them i will be complaining?
Would like to know beforehand what my rights are before i take it to the garage.

Problem with having access to internet is that i get asked by many to solve their problems Well at least i learn something on the way

Read your insurance documents or call your insurer.
They will tell you what you want to know.
We may be good but we aren't clairvoyants.0 -

Sorry for any offence, but you must be the eternal pessemist, ok bad fortune to have an accident, but why do you expect substandard repairs??
Anyway I do have a bit of usefull advise. My daughters MGF or whatever soft top was rear ended a few years ago, near new car, not her fault and made all the more unpaletable by the fact that a PX against the next car had already been arranged.
The car went in to a VX main agent as thats were the car had come from as an ex demonstator????
They had 3 attempts at getting the colour right/run free. Every time we went to view the car prior to pickup you could see the difference in colour from 15 yards. After 3 week or so they got it right. No one could argue as the problem was clearly visible. If it goes wrong you will have some protection as the car should be returned to you in pre accident condition.;)I like the thanks button, but ,please, an I agree button.
Will the grammar and spelling police respect I do make grammatical errors, and have carp spelling, no need to remind me.;)
Always expect the unexpected:eek:and then you won't be dissapointed0 -

Thats what I thought, too.
I had to return a 'repaired' vehicle for the paint work to be finished properly. i also had no qibbles from the repairer as the defects were obvious.
I once had a work colleague proudly show me the repair to her car and tell me they had fitted a new wing. She wasn't best pleased when I pointed out that the 'new' wing had a large patch of badly rubbed down filler which was coincidentally just where the original damage had been:rolleyes: .0 -
When we are involved with insurance work - we are always asked by the insurance company to provide the customer with a 'Client Satisfaction Form' for them to sign when they collect the car. We then send invoice with the form to the insurance company. They will not pay us if the form is not duly signed.
In other words, if you are not happy with the work, tell them and do not take the car away until it is right and you are happy - and then sign the form.
I'm sure it will all work out okay for youGenie
