PC Shatterd Insurance query.

Hi guys i fort this mite be the best play to get this answer.
i just completly shatterd my pc base system i droped it wen i was moving it rooms. i got it in 2004 for £899.99 ive still got the recipt and its on my dads house insurance and i was wondering if u guys could tell me if i was entitled to any claim and if so would i get a pc of the same spec or a new pc worth £899.99? thanks for your time guys.

if he does not have new for old then it's more or less worthless now and I suspect you would get nothing, if he has new for old then an equivalent base unit now would cost under £200Ex forum ambassador

You'll either get a brand new computer of the same spec, or the money your old computer was actually worth (ie what you would have got if you'd sold it).
Gotta say it's probably not worthwhile making a claim. There would almost certainly be an excess to pay so you wouldn't get the full value back, and next year's premium would almost certainly go up because you'd made a claim this year.0
