Should I change?
A couple of days ago I had a knock on the door from an EDF man, I tried to shut the door on him telllig him I dont want to be harrased into changing suppliers....... But the man told me that my gas and electric pre pay meters were installed by london electric (now EDF) currently both keys that we put money on are british gas keys, so the EDF man said that effectively we put money on the keys, and use gas and leccy and then BG pay EDF for what we have used PLUS an administration cost. I thought about what he had said and agreed to fill out the forms there and then........However I am now doubting my decision.
I very rarely make biggish decisions like this by myself and Im just a bit concerned that im goin to regret the change
Are EDF good, will I have problems when they switch over? any comments greatly appreciated

Lets start with the salesman - what he said is not true.
EDF & British Gas are both suppliers, and buy their electricity from other companies, not each other.
As to switching, have a look at the comparison sites, and if you want to switch, get yourself some cash back.
In the mean time, call up and cancel that one so you get the commission, not him!0

I totally agree with SwanJon. I am with EDF but I'm now switching suppliers as they aren't the cheapest for the prepayment scheme. I have used the comparison sites, Moneysupermarket will give you £30 (dual fuel) for changing and a company EBICo Ltd could save me £157 but I've never heard of them before. Has anyone else? I'm going to have a look into EBICo. Hope things work out ok for you.0

Just read this off this site:
Warning! EBICo (Equigas & Equipower) is still likely to raise its prices soon, so if this comes out your cheapest, it's worth considering going to the next best.
Oh well back to the comparison sites yet again!:rolleyes:0

Had a phone call from british gas on friday asking if it was right that I wanted to change my supplier from them to EDF. I explained what the salesman told me and the B/G man was shocked. He said that I had been lied to about 2 points 1) the admin charge that i have to pay. He said there is none
 2) only my electirc meter is london electric (now EDF) my gas meter is a Transco one which i remebered about 6 months ago b/g inspected for me!! If both meters were London Electric/EDF surely it is their responsibility to make sure they are both in good working order!!
Anyway the B/G man said we dont want to loose you as a customer so as a gesture they would like to offer us £40 gas credit to come bk to B/G. They will contact EDF and sort it all out but its going to take about 8-10 weeks apparently with all the cooling off periods,
I am really hoping that doing all this does not mean that at some point over the next 10 weeks we end up cold/dark/hungry with no gas or electric!!
Soooo annoyed at being lied to!!! I have been busy these last couple of days sorting out a few other problems but on Monday I am ringing EDF and Really telling them what I think of them!!!0
