I need to paint 4 standard size rooms in the new house I'm moving to.
Actually I've never painted myself so bit worried whether its a DIY job or not
If get it done by decorators, how much to they charge?
Thanx

Happiness is buying an item and then not checking its price after a month to discover it was reduced further.

What colour are the walls now?
I painted the walls in my flat and they were a white-wash, only took one coat of magnolia!
It costs £15 for 10 litres of it from B&Q!
Did about two and a half rooms with 1 tub. A 10 litre tub of white paint should be enough for all the ceilings!
Get silk for the ceiling and matt for the walls.
You need a couple of roller packs at £3 each, they come with a tray and spare roller.
Also some dust sheets and a pack of 5 brushes to do the cutting in!
Get some masking tape and their own brand gloss if you want to do the skirting boards and door frames.
I reckon it would cost no more than £100, I spent a bit more than this but I did the kitchen and bathrooms, hallways, etc.
Hope this helps!

Sounds like a fair quote.
Unless you are completely useless at DIY I'de do it yourself.
Usually the pros do a worse job than you would anyway... it's not their house!!!Bankruptcy isn't the worst that can happen to you. The worst that can happen is your forced to live the rest of your life in abject poverty trying to repay the debts.0 -
if your covering up stuborn colours which will show through buy a big pot of bulk white emulsion from homebase or a cheap DIY place. you might even be able to water it down slightly so it covers better
then use the more expensive coloured stuff for the second final coat as it will save you having to put two coats of the dear stuff on.0 -
