Or a troll.
Not at all. If I buy an item off you and pay immediatley, then you wait a week and send it with no correspondence, you have sent it in the time frame specified by ebay, so there's nothing wrong with the service you provide so you don't warrant a negative. On the other hand however you have done nothing particularly good to warrant a positive, so I will leave you a neutral.
If a seller sends me correspondence and ships the item quickly and I am pleased overall with the transaction then I will leave a positive to reward him/her for a pleasant and easy transaction. If everyone leaves positives as standard then it dilutes the value of the whole feedback system. What are neutrals for otherwise?0 -
Ahhh so the tune is changing... you don't ALWAYS leave neutral, only sometimes?
What happens if you pay immediately, but it goes through as an e-cheque? Do I still get a neutral because you have not updated your card details?
What happens if I post it same day, but it gets delayed in the post? Do i still get a neutral?
The vast majority of sellers will post within 1-2 days of cleared payment, so do they all deserve neutrals?
What exactly is this "especially good" service that you demand? is it different to the "pleasant and easy" transaction you refer to in your second post?
Ebay sellers are being crippled by idiot buyers who leave neutrals or negs for petty reasons, and more often than not without prior communication. Sellers are also losing discounts due to the subjective nature of buyer perception on DSR stars.
If you leave 4 stars for a seller, that IS considered under-performing by eBay - the star ratings must be above 4.6 in order to receive volume discounts, but whilst indecisive idiots are button pressing, it's hardly a fair system.
You have just clarified to the whole board exactly why the DSR ratings are not idiot proof - if you can not even decide what is a consistently good performance, why should ebay sellers be penalised by this?<--- Nothing to see here - move along --->0 -
So, freebie mad. If you pay by e-cheque which takes about 10 days to clear I'll leave you a neutral because I didn't get my payment within 7 days. Fair? No maybe not but I hope you steer clear of my items!0

I should imagine you are on many blocked buyers lists with this attitude!! God help the poor sellers when the changes come into effect.
I have just had some pr@tt buy a settee as collection only - and he lives in Taiwan!! Plenty of idiot buyers out there - and I bet I get a neg once I've negged him!! THATS what the negative/neutral feedback system is for - timewasters such as these.DFW No. 344
Proud to be dealing with my debts!!:T0 -

i hope for every nuetral you leave you have had a negative in return.
what is your ebay id so we can all ban you from our items.
I concur.
Unfortunately there will always be people who have strange ideas about feedback, and very eccentric buyers..
I always recount the tale of when I was selling a pair of my sisters rock climbing boots, and I received the question from this apparently loopy buyer "Will these fit my feet?" yep, really! Will they fit her feet.. well, since I don't know what size her feet are, how am I supposed to know! :rotfl:0 -
Mate of mine sold a film on video - negged because "film wasn't as good as I remembered"
Her reply was "take it up with Martin Scorsese!"0 -

I once had a positive removed similar to that. The buyer wrote "Great seller, fast dispatch, shi7e film though" - without the censorship!!!
It wasn't me that reported it either!! I never like losing a pos, regardless of what it says!<--- Nothing to see here - move along --->0 -

a positive deleted cos of that word?
mate of mine was called a terrorist (now there's something which will have the sellers blocking him!) within a negative, ebay did jack about it.0 -
Amazing how subjective feedback is - one person leaves a neutral as a matter of course, while I tend to leave positive as a matter of course. If a seller sends me an item within a week of the auction ending and it arrives safely and as described, then fine, it's a positive. I can't see that someone doing what they said deserves anything less than a positive.Almost debt-free, but certainly even with the Banks!0
