There's not need to get it checked by a solicitor...just read through it yourself, I believe that's what most people do.
The Tenancy Agreements tend to be pretty straight forward.0 -

i have seen a half page agreement and a 20 page agreement - but as rogue...says read it thru - i'd even ask for a copy of it before you sign it so you have time to read it thru, ask about any clauses you do not like and get them crossed out and you and the LL initial the crossings out.
make sure there is reference to your deposit and the deposit scheme to be used.0 -
One of my mates said I should get it checked out before I sign as it's the first time I've rented somewhere and not renting through an agency or anything so was wondering what I could do to get it checked out, thanks for idea about checking the deposit is mentioned.Need to save money to fund the dream :rolleyes:0

bear in mind if it is an Assured Shorthold Tennancy there will be certain clauses that by definition are implied but may not be laid out explicitly in the agreement.0

Ask what deposit scheme your deposit is being held in.O0
