Car Insurance Query

My car insurer gave me a year's extra no claims bonus as an incentive to stay with them. Can I take this extra year with me when I change provider? Also, can I change half way through the year as my insurance does not run out until August?

Yes I believe you can take it with you - my wife certainly took her bonus year with her when she left Tesco Insurance a few years ago.
I think you will find it difficult to leave half way through the year as you need a letter from the previous insurer to confirm NCD, and they might not include the bonus year when they write this letter.. After the year is up your renewal letter should include the bonus year.0
