No advantage (these days) in doing so. In fact, there's a distinct disadvantage, in that you'll introduce a 3-5 day delay before you see the money in your stooz pot....but if your using virgin you don't need to go through egg, is this correct or is there an advantage in going through egg?0 -

Does anyone use cards with no fees or are the 0% periods not long enough to make it worth while? If marriage means you fell in love, does divorce mean you climbed back out?:rotfl:0

Another home for your money could be Icesave fixed rate for 6 months at 6.75% (or 12 months at 6.7%) - given that these are long term stoozes, is there any problem putting the money away into something like this?

I applied for the Virgin card on Sunday wasnt asked to contact them like some have, so not really sure if thats a good thing or a bad thing?
Im hoping to get around £6K limit, BT that to my HSBC current account for the 3% fee, then transfer 3K over into my ISA for this years allowance and teh remaing 3k over in April for next years allowance.
As I understand it you pay the BT fee in your first payment and can then put monthly payments at £25 per month, and the 0% period will give me enough time to get the full 12 months from next years ISA.
I am new to this and hope I havent missed anything, have I?0 -

If you get the credit limit, should be okay. If you get more, your cash ISA allowance for 08/09 is £3600. And maybe be an idea to apply for a high-interest online saver account incase you've got a surplus left over that.
Make sure that you setup the minimum repayment DD so you don't lose the 0% status - it'll sort out the 3% first payment and £25 from then on without you having to do anything."A child of five could understand this. Fetch me a child of five." - Groucho Marx0
