Dog has itchy skin problem????

My german shepherd has started with a skin problem. He is almost 10 and it only started about two years ago. It would happen twice a year , in the spring and autumn (usually coinciding with his moulting) His skin on his back would get very itchy, his coat felt almost greasy and he would nibble and make big sores. Our little terrier has little red sores developing on his skin. He has got itchy lately as well. Someone gave me the tip yesterday after washing him, rinse with water with a couple of drops of tea tree oil. Has anybody done this?

I'll try the evening primose oil too. I make my own dog food, and he has chicken neck bones. Nothing changed there. No fleas either. I think it might be in the grass.

Don't worry about the world coming to an end today. It's already tomorrow in Australia.
