already posted (just a few threads down!) so will merge the threads. It's helpful if you could do a search to see if an offer has already been posted before starting a new thread

sorry!!!
I realised after I had sent it!!Regards

Strange to see the TV uses a mix of LG and Samsung
Thought it would be either all Samsung or a LG-Philips joint venture job.
Next year you'll probably find this for £499 or less...Oh well

There's something not right with that spec...

Before you even look that screen, checkout the thread below, remember, you get what you pay for, but Aldi do some amazing deals:

For a start it cant be HDTV ready if it has a res of 852 (H) x 480 (V) pixel resolution.
For HDTV it has to have a res of at least 720 not 480.0 -
Yup I'm a regular on AVforums (Busterdan) and have just been through the whole Tevion 32" hassle...which for some is still ongoing... in the end I brought a new Samsung 32" LCD and got a refund for the Tevion...
Everything I have seen on Avforums suggests this 42" Panel may not be as good as it first seems.0 -
This TV is not HD Ready, as advertised on POSTERS, and in-store leaflets. The AVforums thread mention above by Busterdan details all the fun we have been having. Aldi did promise to put up sign warning customers that the Plasma was not HDReady, some stores had the warnings, others did not, they were also going to blank the HDReady logo on the carton, and alter national press adverts.
EDIT THIS APPARANTELY WAS DONE, USING NEW CARTON BOX SLEEVE
If you have seen newspaper adverts for the Plasma with the HDReady logo, or your store did not have warnings please post either here, or on the AVforums thread.
My advice if you have brought one because you wanted a cheap future proofed flat TV is to keep it for now. Keep the packaging safe, and get hold of a copy of the in-store leaflet. In 11 months and 29 days return the Plasma, explaining that it is not HDReady get a full refund and buy a HDReady Plasma, which in 12 months will be much cheaper, also in 12months BlueRay / Sky HD / PS3 / XBox360 will all be in cirulation and HD Digital Video (720p/1080i 50/60) will be common place. At the moment the only true HD sources are via PC's (plus modded X-Boxes, Game Cubes, Eurosat...etc) but it is fairly specialised.
I have the 32" LCD which is HDReady (over DVI), using my PC the HD 720p content is amazing, but it is not being broadcast yet, so in the short term enjoy the free TV rental for a year from Aldi
.
If however you have a modded X-Box or a HTPC and brought this because it was advertised as HDReady, take it back NOW, and check AVforums for suitable 1024x1024 or 1024x768 HDReady Plasma's.
You MUST keep the packaging safe and the RECEIPT you will need this when you return it.

Just to add to the above, the carton does not say HD Ready but HD compatible which is different. However if you are going to keep it on the hope of returning it at a later date you will need a flyer as this does say HD Ready plus take a picture of the shops posters, also showing HD Ready.
It looks like Aldis ad team have made a boo boo on the advertising.0
