    You need all the figures as monthly, otherwise it's difficult to work out.

    Smoking jumps out right away :eek: That's twice the amount you spend on food!

    Sorted, have changed all annual and quarterly to their respective monthly amounts. :D

    food is split with my flat mate, so thats half of what we pay together, plus i get heavily subsidised meals at work. hth

    I would also suggest that you ask the family member if you could stop paying them until you have paid off one of the interest bearing debts. Uncomfortable I know, but will save you money in the long run

    have you looked into your council tax? As a student you should really be exempt from council tax. it may be different where you are but in edinburgh if all residents are students then there is no council tax to pay, and if just one of you is then you should still be getting a 25% reduction

    thats a great tip! i hadn't thought of that, will get on to west lothian council tomorrow to see what they say.

    pretty certain this isn't going to be possible, as its not actually a family member of mine, its my flat mate's mum, she put up 10% for the deposit on our flat. the extra wee bit of cash would be handy though, but i know it covers a chunk of her mortgage since her OH passed away.

  • as i write this, i am on the phone to payplan, once everything is sorted here am going straight on the phone to gp to cancel the agreement. was on a 13 hour shift at the hospital yesterday, gp was closed when i rang. :confused:
