Hi
a first for us! our first thread. Heres a question for you. We moved to our current property in Feb 07 and i know that our banding is correct. However, i have checked our previous address and it appears that we may have been incorrectly banded. Can we still claim a refund on a property we no longer own?
Thanks for any help

Hi,

If you work your way through the links in the first post in this thread...
Council Tax Cost Cutting: reduce your band and grab any discounts Discussion Area
..and especially the article, which is regularly updated, you may find your answer. Lots to read, I know.
Short answer - use the resources in the links to find your previous council contact details and give them a bell - they ought to know... just don't count on it.

Hi alnwick five,
I've answered your post over on the other board. In short you can't appeal, but if you can persuade the people who moved in after you to appeal, then if they win, you will get back the money for the period you lived there. I won an appeal, got £300 for the period that I had lived there, the people before me got nearly two grand! Please stay safe in the sun and learn the A-E of melanoma: A = asymmetry, B = irregular borders, C= different colours, D= diameter, larger than 6mm, E = evolving, is your mole changing?
