Don't worry Angelina Martin came into the Green Room clutching your eggs and his bottle of champagne! I was in the council tax bit and I had a wonderful time. Martin and Ruth were so friendly and the production team were all brilliant Thanks Guys!! :T :T :T
It was a fantastic experience including the make up I did not recgonise myself when I came out. :rotfl:
Did he really? How lovely that he would take them with him. I hope he has a nice egg with soldiers for his breakfast, you cant beat freshly laid eggs lol!
I didnt really have time to meet you as you celebrities were in the green room most of the time but its lovely to put a face to the names.
Yes it was a lovely day, so pleased we went. :T0 -
Can I ask a question about your Maths .. I got lost because you were yakking that fast. At one point when going through your guests wallet you asked how much he spent on his credit card while abroad ... he said £3-4K and you then said he could save 2.75% (I think) by using the PO card which is £240 (by my reckoning it is less than half of that) .. do you simply make the numbers up and hope people don't have time to think about them? maybe you didn't mention something or maybe you were going that fast I missed were rest of the saving came from.
Nope 2.75% is the loading, but with the cash withdrawl fees, purhcases fees for his cards and cash interest rates - i tend to reckon the specialist cards are 4% to 6% better. Now of course it is an estimate so I did roughly 5% in my head and that's not the saving. Yet in the time pressure to explain the whole benefit is difficult - so I went with the biggest factor they're better. Can I also say that I am disappointed that you are going down the route of so many other consumer programs such as Thats Life, Watchdog etc. using silly irrelevant fill ins (e.g. the few seconds about the 'band') .. there is no need for that .. stick to the point .. saving people money.
You can say it but we won't be listening i'm afraid. It's a prime time show and has to compete with entertainment shows. If we did what you wanted I could probably pitch it to Bloomberg or CNBC. The show is there to inform and entertain, to have fun, and save people money. We add in production elements to keep the variety and the pace up and I think its exactly right.
Watchdog is one of the biggest watched factual programmes and IPTW is currently 60% above the average audience for its slot - so something must be going right.

[EDIT] I will scrutinise the numbers much more closely next week

Considering how much you fitted in the show, I think you did quite well, quoted all the numbers (watched it on video - definitely included them all) AND got us all to check before we spend - the point is that Brendan could save money with the other card - point made!
Everyone has individual spending amounts and could work out their own individual savings to check if it is worth it for them if they wanted to, so being told that I will save money is enough for me to check. To be honest, I didn't really listen to the figures as they are individual, but I did listen to the information, which is the most important bit!
I know you will probably say that the show should be factual and easy to understand, which it is if you listen properly - but you can never please all the people all the time, and I think the show pleases the majority - again, that's the point!LBM April 2013 - £29,000.00Vanquis CC's PAID - Debenhams SC PAID - A+L OD PAID - Asda CC £783.75Barclaycard CC £1400.78 - BoS CC PAID - Freemans Cat PAIDF/D Loan & CC £1458.96 - Santander Loan PAID - Mum Loan PAIDRBS OD PAID - F/D OD £1026.52Weekly Grocery Challenge - £95.00 budget / spend £-0 -
One question though, are the people selected for the 'on screen tests' pre-selected because of their status, or are they completely random?0

Martin - have you always secretly wanted to be an icecream salesman?
Just wondered, thought it might explain your stripy shirts .........0 -
Is this going to be repeated anywhere or can I get it online?
Really wanted to watch it but had to go out!0 -

Quick question - what site was the mystery shopper details on again? I didn't quite catch it? I don't want to go on any old site as some of them are such scams and I have been caught out before, so it would be great to know a good one.
Keep it up guy's, :T
I think what you meant was http://www.itpaystowatch.co.uk/ - you can click on 'get paid to shop' and it will take you through to them being very indiscreet(and slightly inaccurate
) about which shops I shop. What they actually asked me was 'which companies are best to work for' - and I refused to answer that! I did say which companies are best to start with: I recommended http://www.gapbuster.com/xec/Default.aspx?cp=CC000818_frontright and http://online.tns-global.com/wix/p56523701.aspx
TBH I'm not sure if the second link works. But you can find out loads more about MS on this site if you are serious and have the patience to read a very long thread! http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?t=6147050 -

Have a read of this page from the IPTW website...
http://www.itpaystowatch.co.uk/take-part
and keep an eye on this board for case studies that they are looking out for, PPI reclaiming is one they are currently looking for.0 -

Keep up the great work.
Not sure about the band thingy but the Graphics on the refresher bits were great - a real help I thought.
Great Stuff
The celebrity wallet spot was given the time it deserves - although I found having just one audience member in the background of each shot rather distracting.
Some further improvements, in my opinion.- There was less audience cheering and clapping - only when it made sense to do so.
- I liked the cutting to a single shot of Martin at times - much better than lengthy 2-shots with one person saying nowt.
- There were no distractions via the Production Gallery glass!
Many congratulations to Martin, Ruth and the whole team (all the credits were readable this time, which is how it should be).
I was going to try for a ticket for your final show, just in case of any free booze at the wrap party! But I think IPTW will now be going on and on to even greater success.0
