Really liked the show tonight.. it's the first one i've managed to catch fully.. saw half of one a few weeks ago.. but was glad that I got to see this one in full! Lucky I remembered it was on!! Only just tho.. at 7.15! lol! Great article about the council tax banding.. i'm in the middle of checking it out! And as for mystery shopping i've signed up before to a couple of sites but haven't seemed to get anything good.. just mainly going to banks and asking about opening accounts etc.. will check out the sites mentioned in report tho! Thanks :)

just watching it pays to watch more, one thing was, the person asking about the broadband - perfect answer, the next person asking about mobiles it was suggested they check the cheapest they can get it and then asking the company to match - surely this will mean that they wont necessarily get the best possible price?,
they can always say "i want it cheaper", if they wont budge then say "i've found X deal i'll go for that" and leave it to them to match or better it,
they're own retentions offer may be better than the cheapest deal

Show far far better with each week, I was dubious at the beginning, didn't like the fast pace, but Martin seems to have slowed that down a wee bit, and Ruth and Martin are beginning to gel, a new TV husband and wife. I have just discovered Ruth is from my home town of Wigan, Ruth did you do the nightclub run on King Street, starting at Chaplins, Turnkey then onto Scotts....I miss Wigan!

  • Great Show again and full of info - I know most of it is on here, but its a brilliant reminder to re-check things out and also get off our butts and do something about it! (me, procrastinate - never  )

Quick question - what site was the mystery shopper details on again? I didn't quite catch it? I don't want to go on any old site as some of them are such scams and I have been caught out before, so it would be great to know a good one.

    Keep it up guy's, :T

Can I ask a question about your Maths .. I got lost because you were yakking that fast. At one point when going through your guests wallet you asked how much he spent on his credit card while abroad ... he said £3-4K and you then said he could save 2.75% (I think) by using the PO card which is £240 (by my reckoning it is less than half of that) .. do you simply make the numbers up and hope people don't have time to think about them? maybe you didn't mention something or maybe you were going that fast I missed were rest of the saving came from.

Can I also say that I am disappointed that you are going down the route of so many other consumer programs such as Thats Life, Watchdog etc. using silly irrelevant fill ins (e.g. the few seconds about the 'band') .. there is no need for that .. stick to the point .. saving people money.

I've just got up... we didnt get home until 2.30am from the filming as we were having such a good time that we decided to go on to Oxford Street and then for a meal.

If anyone is considering applying for tickets then do so as its a fab day out. The team are lovely and make you feel at ease.

Martin and Ruth were always chatting with the audience between filming, cracking a few jokes... bad ones mostly ;) :rotfl:

My daughter Keelie (she was the young girl in the green top) has a bit of a 'thing' for Martin and she was absolutely shaking when he came over to talk to us. I got a pic of us together.... I wonder if its ok to put it on my blog?

The best news of all though is there are going to be another ten shows. A guy from Channel five came in to say a few words about how thrilled he was with the show and that he could see it would be a hit from day one.

As I was the lady with the chickens on show two, I decided to take Martin some eggs but I forgot to give him them in the excitement so they will probably still be there at the end of the series lol.

Thoroughly recommend taking a trip there. :T
  • Excellent Show - much slower and calmer, better pace from Martin and Ruth - Very enjoyable to watch.

    Keep up the great work.

Not sure about the band thingy but the Graphis on the refresher bits were great - a real help I thought.

    Great Stuff
This site is just excellent :T
