Payment Protection - can I get out of it?

I hope I am asking the right board here! I am trying to get control of my debts and ask this question - can I cancel my Payment Protection on an Egg Card? Also - and this isn't about credit crads but store cards - can account cover be cancelled on Laura Ashley and Principles cards? Please advise if you can - I am desperate to get control. I cancelled all my payment protection on credit and store cards with one phone call to each card provider.

Some will cancel no problem others may do there best to persuade you not to cancel. I even had one ask me to tell them next weeks winning lotto numbers, as I must be able to predict the future if I know I didn't need payment protection!!!

One other thing is to check your future statements to make sure they actual cancel - again I have one "forget" to do it for 6 months!

I am sure they as been a thread somewhere about cancelling ppi on Egg - not really sure where to start searching for this though.

Give your cards a call, I am sure you will find it easier than you thought.

And if they do try to pressure you by asking how you would pay the bill if you lost your job, or whatever the scare story of the day is, just say "I don't think that's any of your business".
