House contents ins - 2 houses for 2 months?

Hi,

We're moving from a rented house to one we're buying, but we'll have both houses for a period of up to ~2 months.

We'll need contents cover for both houses, is there an easy way to achieve this:

1. Can you get ~2 month cover?
2. Should we inform our current insurer and ask if they can cover it?
3. Should we take out a brand new 12 month policy, and cancel the first one after the 2 months?

Or is there a better way??

TIA!
Andy
