Hi all
My mother in law has recently had sky installed. As well as all the scarts etc the sky box has one coaxial ariel input and two coaxial outputs.
Can anyone advise if the coxial (ariel) outputs simply provide a buffered version of the tv ariel input.
OR
Can I connect a coaxial cable to one of the coaxial outputs of the sky box and feed this into the ariel input of a second tv and expect to see the sky channel showing on the first tv replicated on the second.
Hope that made sense
All advice welcome

How long would it take to prove which of your theories is correct?

The coaxial outputs display whatever you are watching on sky. I use one of these to connect sky to my TV card on my pc so i can watch it on my laptop while the mrs. watches freeview. The other one used to run to a second tv upstairs.
You sometimes have to activate the second coaxial output (called RF2) using the services menu. A quick google should tell you how in detail.Fortune's always hiding, I've looked everywhere......0 -
The co-axes both provide the same tv channel as what is being viewed on the Sky box.
There is additional hardware you can buy like Sky Multi-link for sending return signals down the co-ax and changing the channel on the sky box as well from the 2nd room.
This does change what is being viewed on the main tv as well.

Clearly someone's had too much caffeine to be friendly today!
It's fun to post - so why not. Manuals are boring.
Again a fair point though.Fortune's always hiding, I've looked everywhere......0 -
Many thanks to all. Sounds like this will be succesfull exercise.
Espresso, thanks for your time, but you will notice that this is my mother in laws setup so I don't have the manual. She lives some distance from me and I don't really have the time to go do this so would like at least an inkling of whether this is likely to work if I go and try it.
As for asking her to try :rotfl: :rotfl:
Again many thanks to the useful posters
