Dog wee stain in carpet

If you don't remove every trace of the odour, the pup will go back there to pee - he's "marked" this area as his toilet! If you can, cover the area with the sofa or something similar. Then ... you need to watch him every minute of the day and as soon as you see him eyeing up a toilet area, quickly but quietly grab him by the scruff of the neck - give him a gruff "no!" and take him immediately outside. When he pees outside give him lots of praise.
In addition, try to take him outside every two hours for a little wander and when he pees give him lots of praise.
You need to nip this in the bud now before he "learns" that it's OK to pee in the house.
HTHWarning ..... I'm a peri-menopausal axe-wielding maniac0 -

I think we've got enough people to start a carpet-pee-club!!
My adult dog has been having a few **issues** for the last few months. Can't figure out why she's doing it (we mostly solved it by putting her coat on at nightand now were just down to the odd incident!!
In desperation I spent £15 (ok, got my husband to spend £15!) on a supermarket kit with blacklight and giant bottle of anti-pee stuff (supposed to have bacteria to eat the urine or something). Not very MSE! The spray is decidedly average and the black-light is completely useless.
Am going to try the vinegar method - I have a house full of people coming on Christmas Day and am worried 'cos the carpet stinks!!
Edit: My dog Max (pictured left) has just demanded that I point out that HE is not the trouble maker, and that it is his girlfriend, my other dog, Jez. Dogs, Eh!!!!0 -
Simple Solution is the only thing that works - I tried everything else when our cat was poorly.0

Any biological washing powder will work, it gets rid of the smell and the stain.
Sprinkle the powder down over the mess, leave it for 10-15 mins to absorbe some of the smell, then get a danp rag or mop and srub the carpet, leave the carpet to dry then hoover up. If it is a dark stain you may have to do twice, but I never have had too.Work like you don't need money,Love like you've never been hurt,And dance like no one's watchingSave the cheerleader, save the world!0 -

Echo the above but also take the puppy outside as soon as it wakes up and after it has been feeding.
Bio wash powder everytime. If the stain is wet put neat bio powder on as another poster said, clean up after 15 mins then use a wet solution. If you have a carpet cleaner make a solution of bio powder and water and put fabric conditioner into the dirty water vessel. The conditioner stops the suds.1 -

You would make a great dogsitter, violence is just what every puppy needs. Especially ones that dont speak english.
Id be suprised if any pup would feel relaxed enough to perform in the garden if its been scruffed and told "no!" prior.
And no, your reward based training afterwards does not make up for it.
Anyway;Biological washing powder, then surgical spirit when thats dry, thats what Gwen Bailey told me herself, and she would know.0 -
You need white vinegar not the sort you use for chips!!
Also try Neutrodol, shake it on ( do your 'shake and vac ' movements:j ) and leave for a while, depending on how bad it is and then vaccum off.
Hope this helps x;)0
