I put a recipe (slightly adapted from Mr Rhodes - who btw is the spitting double of my OH) in the Thread about kids eating fish if you fancy that0

Beaten to it.
You can use the technique posted by ancasta for a fish based scotch egg type thingy.

wrap a sausage worth of meat round a hardboild egg. flour, egg & breadcrumb (best with fresh crumb), & deep fry @ 150 oC.
takes ages to type with on-screen keyboard:o0 -
When I used to make these at school we always used to wrap them in tin foil and bake them. We opened the foil a few minutes before they had finished baking and there was always loads of fat that had come out so we would then drain them on kitchen paper

at school, we used to get given a type of scotch egg for dinner, tho now i realise it wasnt the standard egg with sausage meat and breadcrumb cover.
the 'outside' tasted of cheese, i thought maybe it was a scotch egg but deep fried, but that wasny cheesy like i remember.
does anyone else think they know what im on about? im 27 and talking about primary school dinners mostly.
i want to make them so thats why i posted here, sorry if in the wrong place!Target Savings by end 2009: 20,000

Wow bringing back memories now ! ( I am older than you btw ) I remember something like this at our school too, was it something like a cheesy mash around the egg ? Mind thinking of it it was not a potatoey taste more cheesy. I would be interested to know this too as I don't really eat meat now and fancy doing some !0

my local bakers does what they call Welsh Eggs - hard-boiled eggs, covered in a very cheesy potato mash, then breadcrumbs, then fried like Scotch eggs. Does that sound familiar? - be easy to make at home I would think - I make normal scotch eggs and don't have a deep frier, so spray them with oil and cook in a very hot oven.0
