If you are upgrading memory make sure you get the right type as it states
Processors with 533MHz FSB require selection of 333MHz Memory. For 800MHz FSB Processors, please select 400MHz Memory
I have stuck with the Intel Celeron 3.06GHZ Processor as this is the latest of the Celerons
The £11.75 upgrade is for the older type of P4's and will not have much performance advantage
If you want better performance then go for this option
Intel® Pentium® 4 processor with HT technology (3.0GHz, 800fsb, 1MB cache) [add £47.00 or £2/month1] Dell Recommended0 -

Could anyone tell me - how many pci slots the 3000 has and will it accept an AGP graphics card?Watch out for Freddie the Fox at the Shay !!0

It has 3 PCI slots and no it will NOT take AGP cards. So this is very much a cheap basic machine but doesn't have a long upgrade path.Could anyone tell me - how many pci slots the 3000 has and will it accept an AGP graphics card?
You can still get PCI graphics cards but they're getting harder to come by, and they're getting to be much more expensive that the AGP equivalent (probably all the Dell customers buying them!)You don't get medals for sitting in the trenches.0 -

Dell have just added another weekend special
If you spend over £650 you get an additional £70.50 off
So buy 3 of the Dimension 3000's or 2 of the Dimension 5000's to qualify
Hurry as this offer ends 18 July0 -
Or add floppy disks to your 3000 to bring the price up to £327.83 and buy 2 of them with this discount at £292.58 each. The discount is effectively enough to get free floppy discs or free speakers if you buy two systems.
You could then sell one full system on Ebay, and 1 base unit on ebay and end up with a cheap 17" monitor (although these systems are already appearing for auction at £400+ delivered!)
OR - get two Dimension 5100s with CRT monitors for £612.36 (works out at £306.18 each for a 2.8GHx P4, 512MB memory, DVD/CDRW, modem and speakers). Code is D-D07515.You don't get medals for sitting in the trenches.0 -

It's one thing to sell these for £400 if the Dell offer has finished and Dell are offering them for over £400. But to sell for more than the current Dell price just feels **completely** wrong to me.No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?0
