  • You don't say what he's like but if he likes to look after himself how about a gift voucher for a haircut? I know I'd love that I could get my hair done somewhere decent without the guilt of spending my own money!

i've occasionally treated my sister to a hair cut cos she can't afford it and geerally the kids and her hubby come first. Otherwise i'd just treat them with some things that they really like but which they can't afford eg nice coffee not just the cheap stuff that is generally bought etc
  • Thanks everyone for your suggestions! I think I'll probably go along the lines of a collection of food and treats! I just didn't want to get him something that would remind him that he had no money so I think the food and treats will go down well.:T

Katie, I made up a treats hamper for a few people and used Aldi's/Poundland. I got lots more for my money and its more treats for your friend.
