Thanks to all for the suggestions. I got some Benadryl lotion this morning and will see how it goes.

Elona... the cucumber sounds good and I may try it if this lotion fails.

Special thanks and big hugs to Lillibet for just being there at 3.a.m this morning. Nice to know you are not alone at that time.

I'd be interested to hear if it helps you at all as my younger daughter is suffering like you at the moment.

Calamine ointment didn't help her . but Eurax ointment has helped somewhat .

    Hi Sheel

The Benadryl lotion is working great. I managed to get a full nights sleep last night and the itching sensation has all but gone. If you want to try it, ask your chemist for BENADRYL LOTION(Skin allergy relief) the box is blue and white. It needs to be applied 3-4 times a day.

    Hope it helps your daughter.

I get prickly heat too. Have tried a cold water bottle filled with very cold water and ice cubes. Also a pack of frozen peas!
Anything very cold seems to help.
The doc gave me Balneum cream and antihistamines.
