I spoke to MBNA yesterday and found them to be very unhelpful! Ive got 0% on my card til 15th April but then its goes to the 35% rate rather than the 19.9% it was! Its amazing seen as tho my other credit card has happily reduced my rate to 14.9% and have said if I ring back in a few months they may be able to reduce it again!!

So much for wanting people to pay off their debts when they keep increasing the rate like this!!
Time to get things sorted once and for all......

At least they are consistent, seeing that this thread was started over 3 years ago and until re-resurrected today was last updated 2 years ago.

0% BT offers should only be regarded as a temporary relief from debt not a long-term solution.
loose does not rhyme with choose but lose does and is the word you meant to write.

And just to add to Redpete's post, you are aware Toria that you can reject the interest rise...

You won't be able to use the card again (it will be effectively closed), but you can reject the rise...

I wasnt aware of it til today but that is my plan of action for tomorrow! I dont use the card anyway so not being able to use it and effectively closing the account wont be a bad thing for me, infact it will probably be a good thing

Yeah. I can only assume they've done a search, read through a thread and posted not realising how old it is.
  • I have just called MBNA to ask how they calculate the interest on my statement, so I can forecast where I will be in 6 months time
I have just been passed around 3 different departments and NONE of them knows how to make the calculation.... Should I be worried:eek:
