Does anyone know whether its worth applying for an Abbey card if you already have an MBNA Platinum ?
Abbey is owned by MBNA as is Virgin ; Martin says you can't get a Virgin card if you have MBNA.

I have an MBNA card (which I haven't used for ages) recently I applied for a virgin card. I got the Virgin card (with quite a high credit limit). A few days later I had a letter from MBNA telling me that they had reduced the credit limit on the MBNA card to £500.0

Abbey isn't owned by MBNA.
Abbey for a few years outsourced their Credit Cards to MBNA.
Abbey is now owned by Santander and have brought the credit cards back in house.
Yes it is now worth applying to Abbey as they are seperate from MBNA.
Martins article will need updating.I beep for Robins - Beep Beep

I've got MBNA, Abbey and Virgin cards.
When I was making online payments from my bank I noticed that there were the 2 types of Abbrey card mentioned by Bent. i.e. Santander and MBNA. Mine is definately a Santander one because trying to make a payment to an MBNA card failed. Howver, when I took the card out it was definately still MBNA because a condition of getting the limit I wanted was the reduction of the limit on my other MBNA card.
It must have been transferred over at some point. My eyes! The goggles do nothing!0 -
