Pointing out that someone has spelt something wrong isnt rude or nasty

That wasnt the case at all

it is the attitude that comes across when you post that I have a problem with. it wasn't necessary - just spiteful.
you say that you understood the post - so why bother mentioning the spelling?
    it's just petty.

anyway - i shall be there tomorrow, bells and all.
Wins since June: iPod shuffle 1gb, Samsung g800, cinema ticket, lush retro giftbox, 2x mp3 downloads, a big box of food (???)

Glad I found this - my family and I are going to london anyway for a day out, this will make it that extra bit special

  • I read this thread as i was interested in the OP's topic, due to heading to London for the day tomorrow.
As a new member to the forum, having only signed up today, I am disappointed to find the same attitude towards bad spellers as I see on so many other forums.
Being a forum predominantly dedicated to helping others financially, I would have thought all users would consider the OP's message more important than his spelling.

I knew exactly what you meant mark1974uk and thank you for your post. Hopefully the celebrations will be continuing into tomorrow, I could use a couple of red envelopes!
  • i went to this - it was a fantastic event so thanks for the tip!
Didn't run into the Money God handing out envelopes of cash sadly but did get -

    *a cute mug
    * a canvas bag - perfect for shopping
    * an energy saving lightbulb
    * more fortune cookies than i can shake a stick at

For anyone planning on going next year make sure you get there early, bring a packed lunch (food stalls everywhere but so expensive) and get a programme - these were free and showed what was what and where - totally indispensible

    :-)
  • Surely the point is to go there and eat chinese food tho, taking a packed lunch is sorta against the spirit of things isn't it :P
