loobylou36,
Even if the mortgage offer arrives on Monday, that sounds very tight. I'm glad your letting agent has seen the light - he was hardly likely to get someone else in during Easter week.0 -

Luckily are letting agent is very good, he said if it is a few days after the easter break it will be ok, I have been stressing out big time that we are going to lose this property. I have the deposit and first months rent but do not want to sign a six month tenancy agreement before we have exchanged!!
Anyway the girls are coming round tonight and we are going to have a little drink and chill out:beer:0 -

The surveyor came this morning and told me he will have it sent off this afternoon, really hope our buyer gets his mortgage offer next week but cannot see March 14th happening for completion. Have spoke to the letting agent and he is going to hold the property for another week
We have signed the contract and transfer of deeds and I have finally started packing.
Good news on the survey being done.0 -
Well our buyers buyer continues to be an
He came for a second look round and was there for an hour - they both categorically stated "hand on heart" they were totally happy with everything and would get things back on track. They were very vague bout dates though.
He then rings the EA on Tuesday and says he is "not sure what to do"
He needs to think about it a bit and will let the EA know on Saturday morning:eek:
So totally in limbo now waiting for him to make up his mind - is it just me or should you "make up your mind" before you offer ? And certainly before you pay for a homebuyers survey and legal fees ?
!!!!!! it's not Monopoly here - this is real life.
So I know think about it all 24 hours a day - I go to bed thinking about it, I wake up thinking about it:mad:It's not paranoia if they really are after you.0 -
That's how I feel, we paid our previous (small!) mortgage off - so were mortgage free for several years. Now, we're committing to a ~3.5x salary mortgage in an uncertain (job + house-price) economy. It weighs heavy on your mind. Last night, I signed up to mortgage payment protection insurance. £11/month, seems like good value for peace of mind. But, I know that our family (all of us) will be really happy in the place that we're buying. Now I have the jitters about whether we did the right thing!
Hoping to receive our contract to sign, maybe tomorrow(?).
Madmonkey - hang on in there, try (as if!) to be relaxed about it all. It's a hard time, in years to come it'll just be a bad memory. Unfortunately, people these days are just not used to being "direct". You can't always trust what people say, unfortunately.Andy

Well we have still not exchanged and we are going to lose our rental property.
Valuation came back fine and the buyers mortgage offer is now with the underwriters and has been for well over a week. Their mortgage broker says all is fine
Our letting agent telephoned today as says he can only hold on to the property till this friday, but have said we can pay the first months rent and then pay the deposit and sign the tenancy agreement when we move in. So looks like we may have to do this to hold the property
I have had a couple of days off work due to stress and the eczema I suffered from 10 years ago has flared up big time
Keep your fingers crossed for me that we hear this week!!0 -
How is everyone doing? It was all quiet here waiting for the deed of probate but now its all systems go and mortgage offers are in and contracts being signed ready for exchange.
Have removal firms coming to do quotes early next week - not used one before so that may come as a shock lol!:heart2: Mumma to DD 13yrs, DD 11yrs & DS 3 yrs. :heart2:0 -
Glad to hear your mortgage offers are in, our buyers have finally got their mortgage offer and we are waiting for the mortgage documents to reach their solicitor. We are hoping to exchange tomorrow, but it's looking unlikely at the moment. I have started packing today as completion could only be a week away0

We moved in on 19th as anticipated. Bit of a problem with a shortfall on some investment cash (still waiting for the cheque, which got lost in the post) but my OH's mum loaned us the difference in the nick of time!
All has been fine with utilities, etc. Removal people were great and we're now sorting out some extra items of furniture from friends and family as we moved from a 1-bedroom to a 3-bedroom.
Only problem has been broadband, which I ordered the week before we moved in. I am crossing my fingers that it will be on for the first time when I get home tonight, some five weeks later, but it has been a catalogue of errors from BT and I have spent hours on the telephone day and night trying to get it sorted out.
Got Council Tax bill through ok and service charge notice has just arrived, so I will ponder that over the weekend and see if some of it needs to come out of a retention or not.
Neighbours lovely, commute a doddle, I think we have been very lucky!0 -
Right well phone call this morning, can we exchange tomorrow and complete on the 6th of May!!! When we last moved it was a standard two weeks between exchange and completion so I have rather a lot to do, a week of mayhem awaits lol!!!:heart2: Mumma to DD 13yrs, DD 11yrs & DS 3 yrs. :heart2:0
