Does anyone know what this means?
"Total Charge for Credit: At the time the agreement is made, is £257.78. Comprimising interest in the sum of £257.78"
It's listed under my T&C for a new card with them and before I sign it I want to know what it means - they are closed now so I can't ring them - plus don't want to be fobbed off.

It looks like part of a worked example showing how much interest you'd pay over a year on a certain amount of debt, outside of any introductory offers.Conjugating the verb 'to be":
