Topman grrrrrrr

DS had me ordering 5 items from the topman sale, all T Shirts, one that cost just £1 and 4 others at £5 each. £4 postage was added on top. All good.

8pm last night I get an email from Topman stating the order has been dispatched....but....everything except for the £1 shirt is now out of stock  As its already sent I had no chance to cancel the order and Im furious as I have now paid £4 in postage for a £1 T Shirt.

Im flippin annoyed that a big site like Topman doesnt have the sense to offer a cancellation before dispatch when 90% of your order isnt going to be fulfilled. Ive emailed them to say as much and asked that they refund the postage as a goodwill gesture.......

phone them and explain and they will refund the postage and maybe £5 as a 'genture of goodwill'... but the latter depends on the severity of the problem.

y would they cancel the order if there were more things on order??

I didnt want them to cancel the order, I wanted them to use common sense and ask me if I wanted to cancel the order seeing as it was now out of stock and I was paying £4 P+P on a £1 shirt.

They really should contact before dispatch to tell you that items are out of stock.
  • I used to work in Topshop/Topman and unfortunatly problems like this happpen. They did have a short period where they asked people but sometimes they didn't reply for a few days meaning that the items sat unsold for quite a while. If you email them and tell them that the p&p was reasonable when purchasing all the items but not £4 for a £1 t-shirt then they should be more than happy to refund. Also, my friend quite recently sent 3 t-shirts in the post. Only cost him £3 :)

If you still have problems then the store is directly linked to the website so you can speak to someone in person if you're getting no where with the emails (same with orders - if you don't like it you can return it to the store)

i doubt very much the packing staff have access to your personal details like that. they get told what to pack and the next part of production does the labelling and so on.

if they did, do u REALLY think they have time to phone every customer to confirm their order?!

be for real now... what if u hadnt answered or wernt in when called? it would be delayed and left to the side in the warehouse... more trouble than its worth. they need to get items out asap, not stack em up and faff about with foning people.
