    You mention Car Insurance - don't forget the Car Tax & MOT!
    I always add in the cost of a full service to my annual calculations too, to cover any work that needs doing to get it through the MOT and any hopefully any motoring incidentals over the year!

    B/F & I also try to save a set amount each month into a 'holiday fund'....if there's a household emergency we can always use this money for that instead, but otherwise it covers us for a holiday every year without having to borrow for it....it is somehow so depressing to be still paying off a holiday after the suntan has faded!
