My husband has a poor credit history and entered into quite a few arrangements with people he owed money to about ten years ago, but since then never missed any payments. Last summer we re-mortgaged and paid them off except for one.
I used to work with my sister and we had a joint account together. We no longer work together but we never got round to closing the account - it has about 50p in it, but she also has a dreadful credit history and has a CCJ against her name.
(My credit history is excellent.)
Would this affect my own credit rating? For instance, are credit ratings linked to the address? And would having a joint account with someone not at my address affect it?
Any clarification would be much appreciated.

iirc, going back a few years now, I had a dent on my history because of being at a linked in address with a defaulter, but was able to ammend this by writing to esperian and disasociating myself from an address and the individual involved, I'm sure more savvy people will chip in with more useful stuff that I.0

Get a copy of your husbands credit file. if all the bad stuff happened ten years ago it shouldn't be recorded on his record any more.0

I just wanted to say thank you both for replying, I'll check my husband's score or get him to check it.
Many thanks

Hi - you might find that you are financially linked to your sister, and that causes your credit rating to suffer.
What does you credit report(s) say?...much enquiry having been made concerning a gentleman, who had quitted a company where Johnson was, and no information being obtained; at last Johnson observed, that 'he did not care to speak ill of any man behind his back, but he believed the gentleman was an attorney'.0
