New Doors in Old Conservatory ?

We've got an old style conservatory - a basically wooden structure with single panes of glass. The 'patio doors' are of the same style and don't seem secure enough to me, a single lock and bolt system.
As we can't afford a new conservatory, would it be possible/realistic to get uPVC doors fitted, leaving the rest as it is for now (or would double glazing companies not be interested) ? If feasible, any idea of costs of a pair of these doors, fitted ?
Thanks guys !

Should be easy enough to fit Upvc French doors or a patio into your existing wooden Consevatory. I'd say it'll cost anything from £700 to £2000 depending on who you pick for a quote0

Any other views on this ? Would I be wasting money by taking this approach or is the safety aspect worth the cost ?Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. If you’re not sure why please read the forum rules or email the forum team if you’re still unsure - MSE ForumTeam0

You could, subject to the size of the existing doors replace them yourself, Wickes do a good quality line in uPVC Patio Doors at sensible cost.0

If you conservatory is wood and single glass, I'm assuming that the profile of the door frame isn't very deep, upvc doors are fairly deep. You may need to look for aluminum or wood to replace them. You would also need to consider the weight of the wood to the strength of the frame.0
