The first box was good because it had a highly limited print run and thus a relitavely cheap endeavor. This was to build up the profile of the project (and also to provide "second hand marketing" - i.e. we have all seen what these companies will send out and thus have probably formed a slightly different opinion of them than we might have had before) and entice people to sign up.

Now that we have signed up in our thousands we are "hooked" and we will be recieving whatever they want to send us and it becomes for the companies a balancing act between cost effectiveness and marketing effectiveness.

Add to this the inevitable difficulty of the reseccion and I think you have a pretty comprehensive view

I do find it psychologically fascinating though how many people on here are almost acting as if this has been something that Tim Milne is doing on his own out of the goodness of his own heart, or as some kind of art project. It's not- it is marketing, it's good and fairly interesting marketing and I'm very much in favour but it is at the end of the day just a box of adverts.

i signed up for this not long ago and got an email to say cant deliver till 6th dec,i thought i wasnt receiving till next year so quite pleased with anything i get!

Shame its no where near as good as the first one, that got 30000 people excited. Maybe that was the idea. Oh well, can't complain really. Maybe the one after this will just be a load of junk mail in a box?

I'll be happy just to get the choc tbh, because I've had that cranberry and granola dairy milk and it's just a bit nice.

I remember applying for the first one which I didn't get (no-ones fault as it was prob. an out of date page in something) but I didn't really know or understand what it was, who it was from ... anything - just saw some sort of advert and thought I might as well try for it.

Anyway, I remember being really glad it didn't turn up because a little while after I saw something else that said something like 'it will be filled with matter for adult males and come in a cardboard box' and I nearly died ..... :eek: .......

I thought I had ordered a box of rudies for men :rotfl: and just kept thinking how will I explain my cardboard box if someone else gets to it first :rotfl: (for some reason at this point I was also convinced it was going to be left in the front garden:rotfl:) and then I thought, OMG : I gave them my e-mail address and I'm going to keep getting unmentionables mailed to me :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

It wasn't until all of this and joining here that I really realised what it was :T .... am still looking forward to it:j

Im dissapointed in the contents of the box after the hype but am still gratefull!
(and if this is pmt then the chocolate will be appreciated by many haha)
This is still the first box, they will be awaiting feedback, (what we say now isnt gunna make any difference as 80% of us are moaning without even seeing it!) Matter sound like a company that will try and improve, and test ideas, some will be duds, but heck if it means they will get better things next time im all in.

If you are ungratefull for this, then i would suggest telling them to send you no more boxes. Especially if you will call it a scam or a con! they have non of our money so im confused at what they will gain especially if they are sending things out!

No I'm going to wait patiently until 'Matter Day' Next Saturday and enjoy it when it arrives, regardless of whats in it :j I love Cadbury Cranbury & Granola Chocolate, SO TIM please drop an extra bar in my box please! (Joke)
I do remember reading somewhere months and months back, probably when Matter Box first appeared in the spotlight so to speak. I'm sure they did list quite abit of stuff that perhaps people would be interested in getting in their Matter Box. OK things didn't go to plan this time for Matter Box, that has been worked on. Now the point is that due to the fact that X amount of people have requested these boxes, more companies will see that it is/will be a great advertising platform for them, and put forward other good stuff, if they really think this will work. I have full confidence in Matter Box & Post Office, who is behind this anyway. pheeeeew I feel tired now after that, but I just want to say to you guys out there that it will come good in the end.
