My guess is that it wasn't profitable for Royal Mail or the vendors of the goods in the boxes. It is basically advertising for the vendors. If the suppliers didn't feel like they got a good return on their advertising, they probably wouldn't do it again. Good idea but as with most things in business, it comes down to the bottom line on the figures.

surely they shouldn't still let people sign up cos they clearly aren't sending any out.i did read ( dunno if it was in this thread) that some people a while ago had got a box but that was the first and only time Matter had done so

Matter is published on specific dates in limited edition quantities, so you don't get one as an immediate consequence of joining. The first edition went out to everyone who joined before Sep 5th 2008,

Once you're a member you'll get a Matter box suited to your profile. Which box you get and when it comes will depend on which advertisers we’re working with to create the specific boxes.
We’ll write to you to let you know when your next box is coming.

Finally got a reply to my email, seems it does still exist, and boxes are sent out based on your profile, convenient, wonder how many people fit..none if this thread is anything to go by recently.

I did just check, and your profiles may need a small update as there was a box asking me to confirm that I am over 18, and T&C confirmation, both unticked.

i emailed them to ask why i hadn't got my april box and just got a reply,

We had intended for the next box to be delivered in Spring / April, but this didn’t happen, unfortunately.

We’re rethinking some aspects of Matter including making boxes more relevant to people–rather than one box that goes to everyone. We believe the boxes will be better when they’re more relevant and so we’re adapting our publishing schedule to reflect this.

We’re working on the exact details right now and we’ll write to you to let you know when to expect it.

My apologies for any confusion, disappointment or inconvenience. Matter is new and we’re developing it as we go

Just to reiterate....check those profiles to make sure you have ticked those boxes..could be important.

Hi Guys,

I don't know if this is anywhere else in the no spend forums, but take a look at this.
http://www.matterbox.co.uk/ is an advertising campaign, in conjunction with Royal Mail. Companies advertise, and the parcels get delivered to you. Take a look, I have just subscribed and looking at the contents of the last box-looks like good freebies to be had by all!!!!
