hmmh not quite sure about this actually saving money power over many automatic kettles as mine a cheapo cordless one also lets you boil just want I want be it for one cup or more and automatically turns it self off when done and yes it takes longer to boil when you have more water as I am sure this one will - least thats the way the gump reads to me.I am responsible me, myself and I alone I am not the keeper others thoughts and words.0

It's just a marketing ploy to get you to buy this one. As you say a cheapo one can do equally the same for a quarter of the priceProudly Banking & Saving With:

Just a word of caution about cheap domestic implements: a while ago I bough a three-in-one offer, kettle, toaster and cheese toastie maker, for £23 or so (Argos offer).
The kettle and toaster broke within a few months, the cheese toaster shortly after. Unfortunately (uncharacteristical to me) I lost the receipt so I could not get a refund or replacement.
I now use a kettle on the gas and a new toaster that only cost around £15 but seems to work quite well. No more cheese toastie machines for me, though!
I would be willing to spend a bit more money to ensure durability - except that it is difficult to find such thing these days, with in-built obsolescence in everything!
CaterinaFinally I'm an OAP and can travel free (in London at least!).0 -
Does this kettle have a invisible element.........you know...completely covered in the bottom of the kettle with a stainless steel plate over it?....if so, you can boil half an inch of water....if you only want half an inch of water..........hence the energy saving..........yeah right.......Political?....I dont do Political....well,not much!0

Gas is less than 25% of the price of electricity. The best way to save money is use a hob top kettle instead of an electric one.
Just remember to turn it off when it whistles.0
