It just gets more and more cofusing, doesnt it?
I gave the gas co a call, and guess what, they were using the usual sales tactics on me..
So From 6odd pence per unit, its now 4odd pence per unit (inc VAT). I was advised to click on http://www.britishgas.co.uk/products-and-services/energy/dual/click-energy.html and she started dribbling on about being the cheapest in the country yet again. Dont quote me coz I cant find the price per unit anywhere, bloody mystery to be honest.
OF course I mentioned energy help line and she went on about them not actually allowed to know new cheaper prices, im WTFing at her of course. Why wouldn't they be allowed when they are advertising the damn company..
*sigh* Their own competition is tiring us out!

It's called differentiated pricing - offer the same basic product to different people at different prices so that only those clued up seek out the best price. Airlines have been doing this for ages. Now the energy companies are doing it with their "click" or "online" tariffs, knowing that a majority of customers will be on their more expensive tariffs.0
