I'm looking to start a website but was wondering, do you have to pay 6 months in advance with every host? I've looked at 1&1 and they want 6 months up front. Can anyone suggest a good Web Host that allows you to monthly or even quarterly??

I'm quite prepared to pay, I just didn't realise they would want 6 months up front? We're looking to develop the site over time and initially want about 4gb of space with around 40gb of BW. Surely there must be hosts that allow you to pay monthly or even quarterly??
I'm not funding the website, only developing it. the people who are putting up the cash are objecting to paying £50 in advance :rolleyes:0 -
Do you have a domain name yet?0

I think for 4gb storage and 40gb bandwidth it is going to be expensive regardless.
If you dont mind me asking, what are you developing?0 -

Don't even get me started on that! :rotfl: The guy thats holding the purse strings wanted to save money so registered our domain of choice through Windows Live and it looks like its stuck now! We have chosen a different one by simply going for the .co.uk version but need to register it, which I cant get funds for without providing justification!
Any ideas on a WH that allows you to pay monthly or quarterly?0 -

1&1 are offering first 3 months at £4.50, £8.99 thereafter, inc VAT they want £50 up front which the banker is moaning about! The price is ok, we'd even pay a little more but is there anywhere that will do it on a monthly basis??
Don't really want to go into any details about what we're doing, its groundbreaking an will earn us millions........how many people have said that before!0 -

I understand, just curious, good thingim not a cat!
Anyhoo, I wouldnt pay any upfront fees personally! I think there is no need for them. Webfusion seemed alright, Just looking at a few others and onto the "Business" contacts so to speak.
Are you needing Linux or Windows based servers?0 -
Hi
I use https://www.fuzioned.com and they are a small outfit with very very good customer service, as in immediate replies to support tickets etc. A feature packed host with very good prices on hosting.0
