cheapest flight to anywhere....

My daughters would really love to travel in an aeroplane, and while we can't afford a holiday I was wondering how expensive - and if it would indeed be possible - to fly from our local airport (Bristol) to..say Manchester or Scotland ..just to get the flying experience.. and then come back. Would this be really expensive? Would it be cheaper to go abroad? Where would I look?
Thanks..
Thanks..

Take a look at https://www.skyscanner.co.uk"Life is not measured by the breaths we take, but by the moments that take our breath away."0

Skycanner currently has problems with Ryanair prices (not unlike certain people on MSE), but the MSE Flightchecker is still working.
Looks like you could have a day trip (or longer!) to Ireland for £10 each! xGone ... or have I?0 -
I think flying to somewhere like Belfast or Dublin would be cheaper than a UK internal flight.
Maybe even Poland!
The flightchecker should help out.I beep for Robins - Beep Beep

Ryanair are probably your best bet for this, although I would agree with the others that using the flight checkers is the best idea, as other airlines can be very cheap.
You should have no problems doing a day trip (or even a night break?) very cheaply.0 -
You could look for one of the special deals where tax is included, on Ryanair or Easyjet. Do remember that the bus to Bristol airport costs six pounds each way per person, so it will not be a cheap outing. (If you drive you pay a fortune for parking instead.)
Since it will end up being a fairly expensive outing, you might as well choose a 'plane going somewhere that you will enjoy. And it might be worth choosing an airline that allows you to choose your seats, so that they get to sit by the window. Sitting inside a big aeroplane is just about the most boring experience imaginable.0 -
We did the same for my MIL and chose Belfast, she felt like she'd been overseas then! Had a day around the city did the tourist open top bus etc and for five of us paid only £99 in total for the flights.
Enjoy!0 -

I think you'll find all the £10 Ryanair flights are only once a day and come straight back to Bristol. ie. no time even to get out and check back in again!
The only suitable idea seems to be the Easyjet to Belfast. But even that runs out at over £25 each (Tuesday 26th Feb). 08:30 - 09:40 going out and 19:50 - 20:55 coming back. And, what's worse, the late flight back doesn't run on Saturdays!
So, friends and MSErs, we're not being very helpful here are we!!!
I think, azjh77 (quite a catchy name, that!), we need more info from you on what is possible if we're to be more helpful. What dates are possible? How cheap do you want to be? Have Skscanner/Flightchecker found anything to your taste?0 -
keep an eye out for the Ryanair penny flights
me and hub went to Dublin, last july (stayed over for one night)
