Hi guys, expecting a smallish package from the USA & the Ebay seller has sent it via Priority mail 6-10 days (with a tracking No......that i can't actually track ).
Will this item come via regular Royal Mail or via Parcelforce?
Anyone got any idea?
Thanks for all replies in advance.

i think it depends on the size of the package sent and also what service the sender has used. If he has sent you a tracking number you should be able to track the progress of the pacakge on www.usps.com upto the point it leaves the US and on www.royalmail.com or www.parcelforce.com once it arrives in the UK provided its a 13 digit tracking number which i belive is standard.
I've had items deliverd from all over the world and sometimes they come from Royal Mail and sometimes from Parcelforce...can't say i looked too much into it as i was only interested in the product arriving.0 -

Hi, the reason why i'd like to know how it's arriving is because a few days ago i found out that a R.Mail casual for some reason (after leaving a 'you were out' card) managed to re-post my item at a letterpost! Now my local depot don't know where the hell the package is.
I'm not sure what the item was......but because i'm expecting a pair of Jeans from America thought it could be that. In which case (as i also found out) it may go straight back to the sender.
If the Jeans are arriving via Parcelforce - that's not a problem.
Thanks for the info you've provided though.0 -

and why would they go back to sender?
maybe i will explain the reason it was returned that way but TBH the fact you deemed it was a 'casual' there seems little point0 -

...........because it's happened to me before with an item from the US.
I was waiting weeks for something to turn up, only to be emailed from the US seller telling me the package had been returned to her for no apparent reason!
The address was correct, she paid the correct postage etc. She said it was marked 'not picked up from the depot' (or words to that effect).
I received no Red 'you were out' card or anything.
So i hope you can enlighten me to what happened there!0 -
Global Priority comes to me either RM or PF regardless of the tracking
Global Priority and FlatRate or First Class AirMail from the USA is taking 14-32 days to arrive despite what the usps.com website tells you

i am still waiting for a package from the US which was sent on 23rd January. I was sent a tracking number, but after trying to track is at usps.com, ups.com, royalmail.com and there being no record of the item, i have since been told it is a customs reference and not a tracking number, although it certainly looks like a tracking number to me -LJ(9 numbers)US0

Since the US got rid of surface mail in May 07 everything is taking weeks to arrive.
Global Priority used to arrive in the same week it was sent out - but all of that went out of the window.
We just have to sit and wait. The delay isn't out end it is in the States.
When I have been able to track a Global Priority it has taken 20 days and more to actually leave the US!

The customs number is the number you use to track the package, if its an envelope it comes by the postie if its a parcel it comes by parcel force most of the time that is, If the seller does online postage option it doesnt tend to be trackable, I hope this helps0
