Reckless lending!!! More like reckless spending.

Dread to think what a telly that size would cost.

Ah but the point is,did all this spending and debt enrich peoples lives and make them happier, obviously not.

Yet I see so many doing it,some are on very high incomes but are still going down the debt route.I know that some of these folk have badly performing endowment mortgages and are doing little to make up the short fall.Expensive cars and multiple holidays abroad seem far more important.
  • The window in the background did not look very well insulated and I wonder how much heat is going up that disused chimney.

chap I know has a son who refuses to wear boxers/socks unless they're genuine armani!!!

let them all hang out then !!!! he'd soon wear woolworths best in a snow storm - stupid idiot - and stupid idiots for buying them for him
  • As a potential first time buyer I'm furious with all this stuff!

If people aren't affording to pay their mortgages or whatever, re-posess them!

It will bring down the cost of housing very nicely for me when 300,000 houses suddenly appear on the market!

It was sad to witness all the repros at the beginning of the 90`s.Most were ordinary people been made redundent or just not being able to afford ever increasing interest payments. At the time I was worried sick!

However this time it`s about peoples greed to buy stuff they don`t need. It`s not just mortgage debt although many have felt to pile this on due to stupidly high house prices.
  • Yeah I remember when my interest rate went up to 15% .. strange thing is tho as I was earning good money it wasn't really a stretch for me to afford it. People ARE encouraged to swap short term credit card debt (at high interest rates) for long term mortgaage debt (at lower interest rates) . I came to my senses some time ago.

    understand your post.

    but only to a point.

my son is totally disillusioned with the market, telling me he will never get on the ladder.

I'm in a position to help when things slide (as I'm convinced they will).
we need a 20% drop in the next 18 months before we can make a move.

but it looks like the 'window of opportunity' will only come at the expense of someone else's misery when the bailiffs arrive.

before anyone posts with 'that's capitalism for you': I allready know.
magaret thatcher told me 25 years ago. 'the market will decide' she said.

    and the market still decides.

still feel sorry for the genuine cases, though..............

I hope that I won't need to post about your re-po 5 years from now..
