When we start out on the DFW trail we do loads of "big stuff" that makes quite a difference to our situation. These include having our lightbulb moment, cutting up the credit cards and cancelling Sky and the gym.
But once we have done the bigger stuff, we often feel that we are not making the same amount of progress, when in fact the small steps are helping us form good financial habits and helping us get closer everyday to staying in control and becoming debt free.
Examples could be charging your phone up at work instead of at home to save your electricity, hanging the washing out instead of using the tumble dryer or leaving your purse/wallet at home to avoid the risk of spending.
So be proud of those small steps, they really are important.
Today I will;

Today I have decided not to go out on a social event, bowling with my friends since I don't really like bowling, and that saves £10.50 (for me & OH)!
Sad, but true...we've already spent February's recreation budget (it's only the 5th of the month, too!)

, so the hospital get double the money unless the queue is short :rolleyes: and OH can wait outside.
Thanks for the pancake reminder, guess what we shall have tonight (from the store cupboard too)!
I'm doing my usual 'no heating' during the day. According to the gas meter reader there are dozens of women walking round in several layers plus a blanket now. Maybe I shall call it a shawl and claim it is national dress.
As usual, store cupboard / freezer meals and another load in the WM to be dried tonight when the radiators are warm / cooling.
Did any one see the worrying programme last night about elderly people going cold and hungry? Shocking and frightening now but also with the way pension predictions are going.I can cook and sew, make flowers grow.0 -
