I would realy like to subscribe to the busy forums via RSS (Really simple sindication)
There is a simple mod for YABB here: http://www.boardmod.org/mods.php?dl=665&filename=RSS_Feed_1_0.zip
This would allow for instance Firefox's live bookmarks to the active threads, Notification of new threads to any RSS reader or RSS enabled mail client and even a moneysaving expert section on your my.yahoo page.
RSS is a superb technology and I use it instead of subcribing to newsletters whrever possible.
Let me know what you think!

Good Call Loafer. I tried to email Martin regarding RSS feeds as this would mean that users could subscribe to the posts/fora they are interested in. I got an automated response??
If a moderator is sees this thread can he/she please ask Martin to look at getting RSS enabled for the forum

It's dead easy to do, as in under an hour at the most and it will save you bandwidth and increase user retention.
No brianer innit?
If you need a hand from a unix spanners man then feel free to give me a shout as this sort of thing is my bread and butter.0 -
Hi Loafer,
Martin's asked me to look into this one. It is a good idea and can be useful to a few members so I agree it's worthwhile. Unfortunately, the "hour" it should take might have to be delayed for a bit.
There are a number of other projects that desperately need finishing and that includes upgrading YaBB and installing BoardMods. We will get to it and I'm confident that it will be earlier than 6 months but I cannot give a definite timeframe.
We'll certainly keep you up to date as we'll be looking to you and daph4ntom for testing. ;)

I would be happy to test out the feeds... There are many other "mods" that would of potential use to the community .... off the top of my head a calendar mod could be very useful for informing the community when offers start and expire... for example...
