Dear ivehadenough
i read this board every day to give me hope and inspiration that other people are managing to get through debt problems like myself but your post made me finally register so i could post a reply to you.
this website is a fantastic resource for offloading and getting a whole raft of advice from lovely, caring people that are in the same boat as you.
I'd echo the advice of a previous poster and say you should think about contacting The Samaritans if you're feeling suicidal. Will really help to talk to someone about everything and just hear things out loud for once when you feel you can't talk to family or work colleagues about what you're going through. Their number is 08457 90 90 90, and they can even call you back if you're worried about the phone bill.
Lots of well wishes from me, and hope things get better. You're not alone in this and coming here and posting is the first really positive step, well done.0 -
I know how you feel, have just come on here as I was in tears on the phone (again) to Halifax. I was in accounts too but got into a mess (sons) and went to CSA who helped, am just getting a bit more up to scratch and Halifax stop the hold on interest, so the amount I was paying is in a shortfall of about £10 p.m. so its getting worse. Have no credit rating at all so cannot do snoozing thing. Will contact CCC as others have advised to see if they can help. Have just told Halifax that I should maybe stop paying and let them take me to court rather than pay under, have debt increase and then wait 6 months for them to try to wipe debt off maybe !!! I felt soooo ashamed when I went to CSA and no-one knows about my probs either, you would think an OAP who worked in accounts would never get in a mess, I also have Income & Exp and spreadsheets etc etc coming out of my ears/PC.
Just really hang on, contact all these folks and know that there are lots even worse than you, and some of them are alone. :A0 -
