This is the first time that I have asked for help on here,
My son has for the last two weeks has gone to a local marshall arts club and said that the cost would be £99.00 for 8 months and a £35 registration fee. I gave him a cheque tonight for £99.00 from my account, the instructor then filled in the membership agreement with my bank details and got my son to forge my signature. So now this bloke has my cheque and a agreement to pay this marshall arts club £45.00 a week, Any ideas??????????????????????????

contact your bank as it is not your signature and cancel cheque.
club is comitting fraud and should be reported to police.
do not worry as you will not lose anything as it NOT your signature.

I'd ring your bank and cancel the cheque ASAP.
I don't understand though, why didn't the guy just take the cheque and bank it, why did he fill in a form with your bank details and where does the £45 a week come into it?Tank fly boss walk jam nitty gritty...0 -
Then go round there and give the instructor a good slapping.
Dont worry if he's a black belt or whatever it means nothing when you kick him in the goolies.0 -
they usually wear cups, how old is your son cos if he's under 18 i'd also get them for encouraging as minor to commit fraudI am now debt free! Whoop whoop! :money::beer:0

You'll get more detailed help on this from the posters on the debt free wanabee board. In the meantime, have you spoken to the club? theres two sides to every story. Do you have all the facts as given by both parties? No implications on my part, just suggest you do check all avenues.0

Hate to say it but if your son was the one who forged the signature then he is guilty of a pretty serious criminal offence.0

Presumably this agreement to pay the club is either a standing order or DD.
Either way, phone your bank and let them know that a fraudulent SO or DD may be submitted to them for your account very soon, and that under no circustances should any payments be made to the benificary. Follow this up with a letter to your bank confirming this, sent by RM special delivery."You were only supposed to blow the bl**dy doors off!!"0 -

But doesn't this drop his son quite royally in it?0 -
Probably but thats why the poster should a) Try to sort it out directly first, perhaps they'll see sense and rip it up to avoid trouble, if that would satisfy the poster and 2) try this message on the debt free wanabee board where there are some real experts who'll know all about things like cooling off periods, DD, SO's and everything else.0
