I am planning a system build for the mother-in-law and am wondering if any of you bargin hunters out there could help knock a few pounds off. I Have got it as low as I can but you never know.
So far
Cheapest found £29.95
Cheapest £16.43
Plus Sata cable £4.99 and Wireless Netwrok Card £8.50
The biggest cost is Windows XP Home the cheapest I can find it is £55 and thats OEM does any one know of any where cheaper?
All parts above could be changed I think the bundle is pretty unbeatable (has to be Intel) and the shop is only up the road from me, but am open to suggestions, just no Maxtor HDD.
Thanks

Do you need an extra SATA cable as motherboards that support this now come bundled with one? Please support my thanks button if I have been of any help

Seems a good bundle to me. Buying from a nearby shop is worth a few quid as you can always pop back for advice if you hit any problems0

I havn't ever bought a SATA capable M/B except for work so possibly not will call the shop tomorrow to confirm, that could be £5 saaved already. :TDo you need an extra SATA cable as motherboards that support this now come bundled with one?The only way of finding the limits of the possible is by going beyond them into the impossible.

Check to see if you need a separate heatsink. They often come with the CPU."I'm not even supposed to be here today."0

An Intel core 2 duo cpu should come with a reasonable heatsink and fan.0

the one mentioned above is part of the package and cannot be changed, I presume it will be the intel supplied one.The only way of finding the limits of the possible is by going beyond them into the impossible.
