I posted this on the online discount forum yesterday but as there were no replies I thouht this forum might be more applicable.
Hello
I'm about to make a purchase from lx direct but when I made a purchase with them previously and subsequently cancelled it their site now does not recognise me as a first time user. I read on here somewhere that I can clear my cookies so they don't recognise my IP address. Can someone please show me how to do this? Also as I'm a Greasypalm member hopefully I can re-register via GP to take advantage of cashback offers.
Thanx

The reason people don't move right down inside the carriage is that there's nothing to hold onto when you're in the middle.

You can try the simple method... Just go to the top of Internet Explorer and click on the tools button, then go to internet options and click that and a window should appear and give you the option to delete cookies. But if you already gave LX Direct your name, address or credit card number then the results will be the same0

Quite possible. Hmm. I'll try using a different card in the hope that they identify online customers by card details and not address details. Although Id be lucky. The reason people don't move right down inside the carriage is that there's nothing to hold onto when you're in the middle.0 -
Sco0ter, by clearing the cookies I suppose I'd now have to enter my password for all sorts of things such as this site, online courses, initial passcodes for online banking, etc? That would probably be too much hassle for the sake of saving a few quid on lxdirect

yes. When you delete all cookies this can happen. The other way would be to go to the cookies folder and manually look for the LX Direct cookies and delete them. This can be done by going to,
C:\Documents and Settings\username\COOKIES
and look for any with LX Direct references.0
