Home Improvement Grants

I was just wondering if anyone on here had been granted an home improvement grant???

I have just bought an old house that needs renovating I am buying the house to live in not to do up and sell on. The house is very inefficient and the central heating is nearly 30 years old approx and the loft as no insulation.

What are my chances of getting a grant??? I have bought the house with my girlfriend and we both work but are not on massive wages but no benefits or anything.

I have searched this site and found a good page with some sites to try but was wondering if anyone on here had any experience of the grants.

Cheers

My first thought is the Warmfront grants, but I'm not sure if you would qualify. This would probably get your CH and loft insulation sorted out.

Our boiler was some 20 odd years old and it was problematic and finally died before the engineer came to inspect it. He couldn't find our house so left a message.

When we finally contacted him he asked what type of boiler it was. He then effectively wrote it off over the phone as he reckoned it was beyond economical repair.
