Hi moneysavers,
My pc was recently grinding to a halt and I asked one of my geek friends to help.
I was considering buying more RAM but my friend said that it was possible to optimize my computer so I didnt need to spend a penny.
He sent a link to a article which I followed as best I could.
I managed to do most of the tweaks and my now my pc is much faster.
The biggest speed difference was made by step 7. Applications Autorunning on Startup
Here is the link if you are interested.

If you were more conernend about users and not your digg post, you would have linked people to useful software, not a digg article.[FONT=Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif]"The internet is a great way to get on the net."

Spam. If your PC needs ram, your PC needs ram. Tweaking some settings may remove the symptoms for a period of time, but not the cause.0 -
A newly registered web site, hands up who thinks that it's owned by "jack"
download this to speed up/optimise for free (30 day fully working trial)
run 1-click maintenance when installed a couple of times, let it fix everythin, then start the main program and there are a multitude of other tweaks

Ram is dead cheap at mo, theres no better time than to buy at this time. You can get 2gb for £40-£50
EDIT I use Tune up as mentioned above its very similar to Norton utils without the baggage0
