Honest, ITV1’s witty new six-part drama, stars the hugely popular Amanda Redman (New Tricks At Home With The Braithwaites) as the wife of an ex-con who has made the decision that her and her husband are now going straight. The DVD of the series, which is currently attracting 6 million viewers a week, will be released by Contender Home Entertainment on 18 February 2008, shortly after the final episode has aired.
After a life of crime the Carter family are going straight. Honest. Coming to our TV screens early in the New Year; this family of tricksters, thieves and blackmailers are on first-name terms with the Old Bill. They have been a mini crime wave for years but things are about to change. Mum Lindsay (Redman) decides enough is enough when dad Mack (Danny Webb – Life Begins) is banged up for robbery: it’s time the family went straight. But some of her children have other ideas.
The eldest, twin sons Taylor and Vin (both played by Matthew McNulty), may look identical but the similarities end there. While mum’s favourite Taylor toils away at law school, Vin’s more interested in following in dad’s footsteps. But is Taylor quite as innocent as he looks? And then there’s Kacie, who dreams of a career on the catwalk, but in the meantime has to get by on Jobseeker’s Allowance. The youngest, 15-year-old Lianna, is the smartest of the lot. But even she’s no angel, blackmailing her deputy headmistress so she can bunk off school.
The sterling cast also features Sean Pertwee (Cold Feet), Burt Kwouk (Last Of The Summer Wine), Michael Byrne (Hornblower, Sharpe), Laura Haddock (The Trial of Gemma Lang), Eleanor Wyld (Coronation Street) and Amit Shah (Life Begins).Bursting with crime, capers and comedy, you can catch up on this shady bunch’s shenanigans over and over again with this DVD out on 18 February 2008.
