I did a search for car insurance.
The cheapest one I found for us was Kwik Fit Insurance for £185.00
I then went to Quidco, got £45 cash back.
Kwik Fit also gave us a free MOT worth £44 and a discount card for 10% off tyres, exhausts etc for our car!

    So in brief:
    Car insurance £185
    Quidco -£ 45
    Free MOT -£ 44

    TOTAL COST £ 96

This isnt including what we might save by using the 10% discount card!

    THANKS MARTIN!:money:  :j

Been through Quidco for quote twice via Churchill only to be told on both occasions that they can't give me a quote with the info. I've provided. Why?????????

Just tried the same with Lloyds/TSB and exactly the same - although the companies are underwritten together. Not sure if it's a system problem.
One hundred years from now it won't matter what kind of car I drove, what kind of house I lived in, how much money I had in the bank, nor what my clothes looked like but the world may be a little better because, I was important in the life of a child.

  • I just have a quick question on car insurance if anyone can help me. My husband and I both drive our car but its in my name. Therefore I have always insured the car under my name and put my husband down as a named driver. However, my husband has held his licence for about 16 years and I've had mine about 9. He is also an advanced driver. I'm thinking, would we get a cheaper insurance quote with him as the main driver and me as the named driver?

whilst Churchill underwrite both policies, they will not both be the same policy, Lloyds TSB will select their own criteria, whilst most parts of underwriting may be similar it is not a 'churchill' policy they will only handle a claim if it occurs, therefore churchill may decline to quote, where tsb will

*To be honest once you have held your full licence for more than 5 years for most insurers it wont make any difference

*A lot of insuers dont reward advanced drivers anymore

    * Be careful with the difference between main driver and policy holder. MAIN driver is the person who drives the car the most (obviousy you cant choose who hte main driver is, its a fact of who is actually the main driver). You could be the policy holder, but either you or your husband could be the MAIN driver - it doesnt have to be the same person on an insured and spouse policy)

*Also if the policy has been in your name for a number of years then you will have the no claims discount - if you put it in your husbands name chances are ncd wont be transferable and so the discount would be received would be less
